A worthy idol. :)Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02549302523503271428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2665236978084294968.post-10950638534275976592010-11-28T10:23:44.868-05:002010-11-28T10:23:44.868-05:00this production (i saw it in the cinema) AND first...this production (i saw it in the cinema) AND first of all SImon Keenlyside caused i really fell in love with the opera :-) I liked clas. music and of course opera before, but...
i thought very highly of his acting in Hamlet too, incredibly good (not only) for an opera singer. and it seems he just is a good actor, i have now many of his CD´s as well as DVD´s. (but not only his, i bought much more and subscribed to met player:-)) ).
all in all it looked like a normal (non sung) drama:-))) i was really enthusiastic about Hamlet and for me it was the best opera in the 2010 live in HD MET season. you are lucky you can see MET performances live in the house:-)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2665236978084294968.post-42864599774511862892010-04-10T09:28:57.340-04:002010-04-10T09:28:57.340-04:00Oh, I'll have to look for "Strange Days,&...Oh, I'll have to look for "Strange Days," which I haven't seen. "The English Patient" is one of my favorites, too. But I agree, I don't quite see where Tommasini was going with the analogy between operatic baritone and stage-and-screen actor... Ah well, we can continue to enjoy both of them!Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02549302523503271428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2665236978084294968.post-59739374559429364462010-04-07T11:19:50.381-04:002010-04-07T11:19:50.381-04:00Well, I´ve seen "The English Patient" 5 ...Well, I´ve seen "The English Patient" 5 times at the movies for no other reason than Ralph Fiennes, and I can´t see a similarity to Keenlyside. "Strange days", another great movie, but..no, still no Keenlyside! (But Keenlyside is a great singer, and Fiennes is not).eddahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13796347757971406858noreply@blogger.com
